Some wheelchair lifts are internal vehicle wheechair lifts that are actually installed on the inside of the vehicle. There are two main types of these ones. You have one that is like a crane in the way that it lifts the wheelchairs off the ground. And you have one that uses a platform as well. Of course, if you are doing the platform on on the inside of a car that takes up a LOT of space! And usually people that use the crane one use it to store a wheelchair in a trunk of a car.
