According to Publishers Weekly, the American Compass Book Club, one of the former Bookspan clubs targeted to be closed, has been acquired by the Conservative Book Club for an undisclosed price. The deal will boost the membership of the Conservative Book Club, which has been about 40,000, to more than 100,000. CBC is a subsidiary of Eagle Publishing, Inc. and is affiliated with the conservative book publisher Regnery Publishing, which has supplied books to both clubs. The combined clubs will operate under the Conservative Book Club name and will be directed by Stuart Richens, an Eagle Publishing v-p.
