The Rocky Mountain News and the Seattle Post-Intelligencer are no more.

Today the Ann Arbor News in Michigcan announced that they would publish their last edition in July of this year. And there are three other papers that have announced today that they a’re cutting back to three print editions a week.

Since January 2008 there have been over 120 newspapers that have shut down. It looks like the newspaper is facing extinction.

You know, one of the great things about the internet is that it is possible to discover new talent that in the past might have gone unnoticed. I recently found out about a new talent that is showcasing their singing and songwriting talents on Myspace. While that may not seem like nothing new to you let me now mention that this particular talent is a wee 12 year old girl! Impressed now? I should say so! The girl in question is named Lena and she is a little singing powerhouse. If you want to check out Lena’s singing chops head on over to Lena’s myspace page. When you get to her myspace page you can hear some samples of how she sounds. She got her start singing the national anthem when she was just 7 years old in front of a really big crowd. After that she did a little record where she recorded some covers of some popular songs. And now, at 12 years old, she has graduated to singing and writing her own stuff.
