The Washington Post is ending its stand alone book section. If you are a fan of Book World it will not be there any longer. Instead, it will be a separate Sunday section and moving its coverage of books and publishing elsewhere in the paper. This announcement was made yesterday.
This means that the Post would publish about three-quarters of the roughly 900 reviews it has carried each year. The change will take effect Feb. 22, 2009.

The book Angelology has a new home, thanks to a bidding war. Viking is the publishing house that emerged victorious in this war. Supposedly to the tune of six figures.
Angelology is the debut novel from Danielle Trussoni.
It is being described as Da Vinci Code-esque work. The story follows a young nun in upstate New York who, in uncovering a correspondence between the former mother superior and Abigail Rockefeller, unwittingly reignites an ancient war between a society of angelologists (a group that studies angels) and the Nephilim (the monster-like descendants of angels and humans). The book pulls from a variety of religious and mythical stories and blends biblical lore, the Orpheus myth, the apocryphal Book of Enoch and the fall of the rebel angels.

In March, I am going back to Ireland for the first time in over four years, and I am so excited! For most of the trip, I’m going to be staying in County Clare. I’m working on a novel right now that spends a lot of time in Doolin, not far from the Cliffs of Moher. So, I’ve been checking out hotels on HotelsCombined.com to find some place awesome to stay that is also in my price range, and I’ve decided. I am so staying in a castle. There are a couple of different old castles that have been renovated into hotels, and they look amazing. They are totally modern and reasonably priced at right around $100 a night and they have plenty of good reviews, which always makes me feel a little more comfortable with a hotel. All of my worst trips have started out with a filthy hotel room.
I’ll probably spend more time taking photos and researching than just playing, and it’s going to be so beautiful, I imagine I’ll get quite a bit of writing done. I do intend to have some fun though, some pub music, a pint of Guinness or four. And I really need to get over to the Blarney Stone. I could use a little eloquence.
