The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society is a debut novel by the late Mary Ann Shaffer and her niece, Annie Barrows. The book is set to be released on July 29, 2008. And that is just where it starts to get interesting.

You see, it has already gotten some mentioning in the Wall Street Journal. In fact, it is looking like the summer’s surprise hit. Apparently, one of the books co-authors died earlier this year while the book was still being edited.

There is so much pre-publication buzz that the Dial Press is shipping well over 100,000 copies. And that is rather high for a first novel!

You know, I like to dream about things like getting rich off of some investments and then living the good life. The interesting thing is that it is completely feasible to do something just like that. If you do not believe me then you need to take a moment and get to know Northern Trust. They do things like set up a charitable trust for you if you need one. But anyways, if I was so fortunate to have a lot of money like that I know just what I would do. It seems like there are an awful lot of bloggers that get book deals. Typically they have successful blogs that get them the book deal. And ironically they seem to neglect their blogs once they get the deal. Although that is not always the case. I just recently read about a blogger that was approached by a publishing company, instead of the other way around. It is Steve Pavlina. He writes an insanely successful personal development blog in case you are not familiar with him.
