Tattered Essence

The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society is a debut novel by the late Mary Ann Shaffer and her niece, Annie Barrows. The book is set to be released on July 29, 2008. And that is just where it starts to get interesting.

You see, it has already gotten some mentioning in the Wall Street Journal. In fact, it is looking like the summer’s surprise hit. Apparently, one of the books co-authors died earlier this year while the book was still being edited.

There is so much pre-publication buzz that the Dial Press is shipping well over 100,000 copies. And that is rather high for a first novel!
