I have used Central Plains Book Manufacturing to print up some books. I used them because they were highly recommended. Needless to say, I was not impressed. Now they have gone bankrupt. But it looks as if Central Plains will retain its name as a division of Sun Graphics and will continue to operate at Strother Field temporarily.
If you recall, Central Plains ceased its operations and laid off its 70 workers back on August 1st.

So J.K. drops the news that Dumbledore is gay at the Q&A in NYC. There, it draws a stunning ovation. Later, the message boards catch fire.
It is so brave!
It is so disgusting!
How could we not have seen it?
Why couldn’t she have just kept her mouth shut about it?
Well, you couldn’t see it, because it wasn’t just subtle, it was non-existent. So J.K. says that it is so. That’s great, except that it was so completely concealed that it really shouldn’t have caused a stir on either side of the debate.

Trafalgar Square Publishing has re-published Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, David Copperfield by Charles Dickens, Frankenstein by Mary Shelley, Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë, Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë and Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson.
That is a great thing.
Except…
Each edition features a “Why You Should Read This” foreword by a contemporary YA author, including Philip Reeve, Meg Cabot and Celia Rees, among others.
Gag me.

The Pope has granted permission for his story to be told in a children’s book, to be narrated by the pontiff’s favorite cat. I have nothing against the Pope and children’s books. But the two of them together…
Wonder how that cat will tell the story of how the Pope was a Nazi?!

With the plummeting value of the dollar comes a unique problem. The Canadian dollar is no longer worth way less than the American dollar. So, some Canadians are mad at the prices they are having to pay for books. Pick up any book and you will see one price in American dollars and one price in Canadian dollars. And the Canadian number is higher. What will happen if the value of the dollar continues to fall?
